You've actually seen that one? It's one of the more obscure ones on that gallery! I want to re-watch the Allan Quartermain movies, I know they are good for a laugh, especially the second one!
Great gallery Francisco! I love the Indiana Jones posters by Drew Struzan. They don't make them like that anymore. - Maurice Mitchell www.thegeektwins.com
I haven't seen most of these movies but it is sure nice to see a lot of painted movie posters as opposed to the quick Photoshopped film posters we've seen a lot in recent years. And yeah, a lot of Indiana Jones cash-ins here, haha!
I too prefer the painted movie posters of the past, but I guess Photoshopping posters is cheaper than paying an artist thousands of dollars for a poster...so sad, these where true collectibles, the same cannot be said for some of the uninspired bullshit posters they make today.
I think Jane and the Lost City got shown on TV a lot in the UK because its based on a British comic strip. As I recall it was a pretty terrible movie. Wasn't it that she kept getting her clothes torn off?!!
Agree these painted posters are far better than the photoshop rubbish they pump out nowadays. Also back then they would rarely have variations on posters. It was always just one memorable one.
Wow, forgot how many movie tried to rip-off Raiders of the Lost Ark! Jane and the Lost City! Now there's a film I haven't seen since a kid.
