Werewolf Movie Poster Gallery (And then Some!)

So you think you have seen every werewolf movie ever made? Think again! Recently, I had the pleasure of collaborating on a huge blogpost on werewolf movies entitled Werewolves of the Blogosphere! where three fellow bloggers and myself offered up 20 something werewolf movies from all over the world. It was a pretty extensive blogpost and Im proud to say we came up with some interesting choices, if you havent had the opportunity to check out that blogpost yet, do yourself a favor! So anyway, while doing research for that post, I came upon a bunch of other werewolf films I had never heard of. So, for your viewing pleasure I offer you guys this poster gallery. It's filled with posters for werewolf movies from all around the world, and quite frankly, I found some I had never even heard of before. Some are straight to video, some are not directly werewolf films, but have werewolfs in them. Hope you enjoy them!

  3. Nice list, Franco. I got a DVD-R of FULL MOON HIGH I made from cable. It's funny here and there, but mostly a misfire.

    PROJECT METAL BEAST is one I'd like to see again. This werewolf is given metal skin in the hopes of creating a military weapon as I remember it. A really stupid movie, but the effects were fun. I seem to remember the heroes firing a rocket into the creature and the end and the monster rips it out of his leg.

    TRACK OF THE MOON BEAST isn't a werewolf movie, though. It's about this college kid who comes into contact with some kind of meteorite and turns into a lizard monster. An Indian character tracks him down and does him in with a bow and arrow of all things. The arrow head was made from the moon rock, or something. Terrible movie. I wouldn't mind seeing it again. It has a TV movie vibe about it. Not very bloody, either. I think a guy gets an arm ripped off. There's also no end credits whatsoever. I remember my dad laughing out loud saying "They couldn't even afford a 'The End'?"

  4. Also, Fran, I finally got around to watching the B/W sci fi/horror THE WEREWOLF from 1956. It's one of the most unusual approaches to doing a werewolf movie. Definitely something you might be into, Fran!

  5. I am extremely curious for both of those werewolf movies, Project Metalbeast and Full Moon High. Full Moon High looks like it might be similar to Teen Wolf in someways.

    I put Track of the Moonbeast on there because it was included in a list of werewolf movies I researched, I guess it does have something to do with the moon and transforming...but not into a werewolf.

    Now that you mention that werewolf film from 1956, I researching werewolf movies, I wanted to see how far back in time they go, where they started and discovered a lot of movies I had never even heard of, and that arent available on any format. Really early stuff!
    One film, is attributed as being the first werewolf film ever, called The Werewolf and it was made in 1913 and distributed by Universal STudios! Unfortunately, it is a lost film. It sure would be interesting to see that one.

  6. An excellent gallery of images Franco. I was considering doing something relating to our lupine brethren myself in my semi-regular Poster Gallery section, but you've done the job for me. I particularly liked the poster for 'Full Moon High'.

  7. Glad you liked them Shaun! I like to do poster galleries every now and then, did a two part poster gallery a while back on posters with skulls in them, that one was pretty cool.

    I enjoyed doing this one, managed to unearth a bunch of obscure films, which is always cool.

  9. I WAS A TEENAGE WEREWOLF is a hoot, too. It's got Michael Landon in the title role. Yes, Little Joe from BONANZA and Charles Ingles from LITTLE HOUSE ON THE PRAIRIE was a werewolf at one time!

  10. @Shaun: Thanks man, expect more poster galleries in the future.

    @Venom: I do actually remember an episode of Little House on the Prairie where the kid makes believe he is a werewolf by putting soap on his mouth and building a fake rock, so he could lift it up and make believe he had the strength of a werewolf.

    @raculfright: Thanks!

  11. Yeah, that kid was doing that to scare off a bully at school, but one of the little girls spoiled the trick and he got beat up anyway.

    There was another episode that was a Halloween episode that had a head bouncing down some stairs among other things and an apparently real appearance by the Headless Horseman at the end.
