I dig Afleck's portrayal of the character and how Snyder is directing them, they got the fun element back into these movies and thank god for that. Comic book movies should be fun in my book. For me, the Nolan Batman films were too talky for a comic book film.

I also dig those old fashion superhero movies (my favorite is The Shadow), but younger audiences didn't give them a chance. Everyone started buying rights for the adaptations after Batman took over the box office. I totally agree that these guys were making the wrong movies, although I really dig the 30s super heroes. I don't think that people would be interested in comic books if not for this movie. Frankly speaking, I didn't read the comics so I didn't know how far Burton took the character from his roots. One day a kid in school told me that the movie is awesome and stuff, but Batman is not a killer, he is a detective. By that time I already loved the sequel even more than the original and didn't get the remark. What? Batman killed a lot of folks in these two movies. Only then I took some time to read the original books and figure out who the character really was. I got hooked. I became a fan. When we got nipple suit Batman I was disappointed. Yeah, Joel's movies were continuing the story, but Gotham was different. The city was different in Burton's vision too, but not that different. I didn't like Bale's Batman and was surprised that Afleck's Batman is that good. Somehow I feel very connected to Keaton's portrayal of Batman, although he looks nothing like his comic book counterpart. It's an age thing, I guess. I was bored to death with the Batman we were getting for the past 15 years and now he is back in black like I wanted. In the years after Batman, they kept making mistakes, like making comic book movies out of ultra old comic book characters. Not saying these movies were bad, I rather love The Shadow, The Phantom and The Rocketeer, but people really wanted contemporary heroes or stories that took plays in our time, not the 1930's. It wasn't until Bryan Singers X-Men that they got on the right track....after X-Men there's been no stopping the success of comic book based movies. I'm working on an article about all these...keep your eyes peeled for it! Thanks for commenting! Love it.Cybolichttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17287203633155275658noreply@blogger.com
