It's a pity that Miller has stated he wont make another Mad Max because they are too difficult to make! I hope he seriously reconsiders! I will be posting it this week, but I included it on the list because it certainly was one of the best of the year. Just bloody madness! So Macabre! Technically, no film beats it this year, not even Star Wars.

Phantom of Pulp: Glad I'm not alone on John Wick!

Dom Coccaro: I will check out your year review Dom, when I wrote the list I hadn't seen Tarantino's The Hateful Eight yet, but, saw it last night so now I'm going to include it in the #3 spot. However of course over $2 billion worldwide is still very impressive and will set the franchise up nicely for 2 or 3 more sequels, the fans have got so much Star Wars magic to look forward to over the next few years.eddie lydeckernoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8293273378239831747.post-53189873305594391032016-01-07T10:36:54.707-08:002016-01-07T10:36:54.707-08:00Agree, that's what I needed from it, I did enj...Agree, that's what I needed from it, I did enjoy those colorful scenes, but I needed more from a so called "stylish" action film. Hard Boiled is a great example. Let's see some trickery, because guys shooting cgi bullets just doesnt do it for me, something has to make the action scenes special in this kind of bullet ballad, which is what they were attempting to do here. Hopefully the sequel, being shot as I type this, can improve a bit on this. Wish some of the action was more creative, though, like some crazy stuntwork or two would have been nice, instead of guys just shooting each other and hitting each other normally.

The best high body count films--like Hard Boiled--put their characters in all sorts of crazy and creative action situations that make it more exciting to watch. I know John Wick is supposed to be more realistic, but there's still more you can do.LLJnoreply@blogger.com
