Love the film, love the world, the creatures and love the characters. Nausicaa is a leader, a strong willed woman, who is in contact with the world she lives in, and nature. Loved the envirnomentalist message in the film as well.
Franco Macabrohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10994905312221715861noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8293273378239831747.post-37246072235128019172012-08-22T11:56:34.969-07:002012-08-22T11:56:34.969-07:00This is my third try and my comments keep disappea...This is my third try and my comments keep disappearing after I hit the Publish button.

I knew you had written about this some time ago. Still a great movie though!

Thanks for commenting Neil!

Tim: So true, Miyazaki's films deserve the royal treatment, and thats what they got from Disney. The same cannot be said about Corman's cheap-o, sleaze ball move called Warriors of the Wind.Franco Macabrohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10994905312221715861noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8293273378239831747.post-75888910184648047842011-08-01T08:56:26.154-07:002011-08-01T08:56:26.154-07:00I love all of Miyazaki's movies and this one i...I love all of Miyazaki's movies and this one is one of my faves.

Say what you like about Disney, they did do right by use all to give us Studio Ghibli movies as they were meant to be, and not like "The Warriors of the Wind" (shudder).Timothy S. 'Mononoke' is a great film in many ways, but probably my least favourite of Miyazaki's ouevre based on how po-faced and grimly humourless it is.

To say 'Nausicaa' isn't a Ghibli production proper, it certainly establishes a template for Miyazaki's subsequent Ghibli films. All of his preconceptions are here: a strong female protagonist, environmentalism, the work ethic, the love of flying.

Great review, Franco.Neil Fulwoodhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14686296295535235988noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8293273378239831747.post-4400025562907487412011-07-19T04:04:01.518-07:002011-07-19T04:04:01.518-07:00Agree LLJ, also, Princess Mononoke is a more serio...Agree LLJ, also, Princess Mononoke is a more serious film with almost no "funny" characters and no comedy relief, while Nausicaa is a bit more lighthearted sometimes.

Thanks for commenting!Franco Macabrohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10994905312221715861noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8293273378239831747.post-64949553859173859512011-07-16T09:54:19.443-07:002011-07-16T09:54:19.443-07:00In many ways, Princess Mononoke was basically a re...In many ways, Princess Mononoke was basically a remake of Nausicaa.
